Mary joined Pacific Foundation Services (PFS) in 1998. As Vice-President of the company, she is involved with strategic planning, business development, and human resources. As a senior staff member, she supervises multiple teams, directing both program and administrative work as well as conducting research and carrying out field work. Mary works closely with families to provide guidance on a spectrum of topics, from honing the vision of a new foundation to helping families navigate intergenerational transitions. As the Executive Director for the Bella Vista Foundation since its founding in 1999, Mary has helped establish the foundation’s role as an integral funding partner for programs supporting environmental restoration and early childhood development.
Prior to PFS, Mary helped connect the private sector to the public school system at the San Francisco Education Fund, served as President of the Board of Directors for Katherine Delmar Burke School and the Randall Museum Friends, and worked as a fundraising consultant with a focus in the field of education. With a passion for community building, she has served on the board and actively volunteered for over 12 years with At The Crossroads, a nonprofit organization providing outreach and support services to homeless youth in San Francisco. Mary grew up in San Francisco and received her BA in English from Princeton University. She likes dogs, contemporary fiction, and is bewitched by her young granddaughter.
Jessica Sutton, Grants Manager

Jessica joined the grants management team at Pacific Foundation Services (PFS) in 2014 and feels fortunate to be able to support nonprofits and family foundations in making the world a more equitable place. She strives to provide reliable and valuable support to grantmaking foundations and their grantees.
Prior to her work at PFS, Jessica worked at the Charles Schwab Foundation where she led the migration of their grants management database to an online platform. She previously worked at KIPP Bay Area Schools where she began as the Executive Assistant and later transitioned to leading their college savings account program. Jessica served one year as an AmeriCorps VISTA member with HandsOn Bay Area connecting community members with volunteer opportunities at nonprofits throughout the Bay Area. She earned her B.A. in Sociology from Boston University and spent a summer bicycling across the country from Providence, Rhode Island to Seattle, Washington to raise funds and awareness for affordable housing. Jessica grew up in the Bay Area and lives in Oakland with her husband Nick. She loves baking, gardening, reading (fiction and cookbooks) and exploring near and faraway places.
